King meets Jordanian-Korean Parliamentary Friendship Group

Seoul - His Majesty King Abdullah II met in Seoul on Monday with the Jordanian-Korean Parliamentary Friendship Group which comprises heads and members of the Korean National Assembly.

At the meeting, which was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the King expressed appreciation of efforts of the group to forge closer cooperation between Jordan and South Korean, mainly in parliamentary fields.

The King highlighted friendship between the two countries, adding that the Kingdom is keen to further promote relations with Korean  in various fields. 

He said that the progressing relations, the exchange of visits and the increasing trade exchange between Jordan and South Korea reflect the strong ties between the two countries.

His Majesty expressed appreciation of the support provided by Korea to Jordan through grants, loans and scholarships and through its contribution in establishing a research nuclear reactor at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.

The King voiced hope that the group will continue its efforts to support relations between the two countries, mainly in the development and technical fields.

His Majesty pointed to prospects for increasing economic cooperation between Jordan and Korea in light of the security and stability that Jordan enjoys as well as its attractive investment climate.

Members of the group expressed appreciation of the King's role to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East and achieve comprehensive reforms in the Kingdom.

They said the King's efforts made Jordan and oasis for security and stability, adding Korea was interested in enhancing its investments in the Kingdom through setting up major projects .

His Majesty also held separate meetings with chief executive officers of major Korean institutions and companies and reviewed investment opportunities in the Kingdom  as well as possibilities for these companies to invest in  the sectors of energy, infrastructure, water, construction, pharmaceuticals, electronics and defence industries.

The meetings were attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prince Rashid bin Al Hassan and members of the delegation accompanying the King.
