HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein visits the University of Jordan
Amman - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, patronized the University of Jordan celebrations to mark the 45th anniversary of Al Karameh battle.
HRH removed the curtain on the Memorial plaque of Al Karameh Martyr's Memorial, in which students embodied the values of heroism through an innovative design that the highlights the sacrifices of the Jordan Arab Army during the battle.
HRH listened to an explanation from the university students about the contents of the Martyr's Memorial site, which includes the pictures and names of the martyrs of the battle which were drilled on a Copper plate, as well as copies of international newspapers that highlighted the accomplishment of the heroic Arab army.
The Crown Prince visited student exhibition showcased paintings that mimic the proceedings of the battle and the accomplishment of the Arab army members. During the main celebration, UJ President Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh said in his speech the University of Jordan today celebrates dignity, sacrifice, heroism, the righteous soldier and the army in the place where His Majesty King Abdullah II, launched his vision for the future and the present; to continue to exist as the reason of the state and its conscience against ignorance and backwardness and illusion, based on its commitment to enhance the connection with the society, and strive to understand the human and scientific needs. Tarawneh urged professors and researchers to search and quest the battle and focus their work and effort on it.
