Crown Prince opens Al Faris International Horseback Archery Competition

Zarqa - Deputizing for His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II opened in Zarqa today, Jordan's Second International Horseback Archery Competition "Al Faris" as part of the Kingdom's celebrations on Independence Day.

In remarks at the event, which was attended by HRH Prince Hashem bin Al Hussein, Acting Director of the Public Security Department (PSD) Major General Mohammad Raqqad said the competition coincides with the Kingdom's celebrations on national occasions.

"Organizing this event in the Kingdom, will contribute to enhancing the PSD's humanitarian message as well as allegiance to the Hashemite leadership," he added.

Sponsored by the PSD, the competition revolves around a variety of archery styles, such as: the Korean, Hungarian, Turkish, and Jordanian, in addition to a selection of shows, such as; Saber Fighting, Mogu Show, Vaulting, and other Archery Martial Arts Performances. 

Al Faris Horseback Archery Competition is now an annual Championship that is being held every summer in Jordan. It also introduces new styles and techniques each year. 

The event is attended by participants from Spain, Brazil, Britain, France, Germany, Hungary, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, Iran, China, Japan, South Africa in addition to Jordan.
