HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein receives Jordanian mountaineer

March 24, 2013

Amman - HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein, the Regent, received Jordanian mountaineer Mostafa Salameh, who climbed Carstensz Pyramid, the highest mountain in Australia in 2012.

Salameh presented Prince Hussein with the Jordanian flag that he hoisted over the summit. The Regent commended Salameh’s achievements.
Salameh also briefed Prince Hussein on his new initiative, “From the lowest point to the highest point for cancer”, which will begin at the  Dead Sea and end at Mount Everest’s base camp.

Twenty-two Jordanians are taking part in the trek to collect $1 million to help fund the expansion of the King Hussein Cancer Centre. In 2008, Salameh became the first Jordanian to scale Mount Everest.
