His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Monday, received Chairman of the U.S Breakthrough Prize Foundation, Simon Pete Worden.

The Breakthrough Prizes honor important, primarily recent, achievements in the categories of Fundamental Physics, Life Sciences and Mathematics.
The meeting tackled ways of cooperation between the Crown Prince's Foundation and the Breakthrough Prize's, in the framework of supporting, enabling and providing Jordanian youth a platform for their capabilities and creativity, through initiatives and expertise offered by this prestigious scientific institution.

The Crown Prince praised efforts of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation's founders in providing an appropriate environment for the creative youth in various scientific fields, stressing keenness to support any efforts that will invest in young talents, Jordan is known for, and increase opportunities for students and researchers to improve and expand their abilities and creative skills.

The cooperation between the Crown Prince's Foundation and the Breakthrough Prize's is set to highlight Jordan as a platform for innovation and creativity of youth at the regional level.

Also, the meeting highlighted the possibility of Jordan playing a pivotal role within the foundation's programs in the Middle East, in particular the Breakthrough Junior Challenge award, which aims at stimulating high school students' skills in making short videos on the interpretation of certain scientific phenomena.

Worden, in turn, gave a briefing on the vision of Breakthrough Prize Foundation toward young people, students and researchers, as well as its motivational and incentive global programs and initiatives for students in various grades.

The U.S official praised as "obvious and leading" Prince Al Hussein's efforts in support of youth and provide them with various necessary needs to encourage them and promote their creativity.

He expressed his foundation's desire to build a strategic partnership with Jordanian institutions involved in youth creative fields.

The Breakthrough Prize Foundation was founded in 2010, by a group of entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, California, in order to focus on extraordinary scientific achievements worldwide.

The foundation's visit to Jordan, the first one to the Middle East, comes as part of its efforts to communicate with students, researchers and stakeholders in research and scientific fields, as well as showcasing its initiatives and awards.

The Crown Prince Foundation, which was established as part of Prince Al Hussein's keenness to follow up on Jordanian youth issues, deals with youth initiatives in Jordan, in order to develop young talents and launch their creativity.
