Aqaba— His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Sunday inaugurated the first phase of the Gia Apparels Industry factory for ready-to-wear garments affiliated with Classic Fashion Apparel Industry, in Aqaba Governorate.

Crown Prince Al Hussein toured the factory’s training, production, and packaging facilities, and was briefed by the company’s owner, investor K. S. Sanal Kumar, who noted that the project will include several factories, at an estimated value of $150 million, extending over nearly 340 dunums.

Kumar said the factory provides about 450 jobs, 90 percent of which are for Jordanians, with a maximum daily production capacity of nearly 450,000 pieces of clothing.

He added that the second and third phases are expected to conclude by the end of the current year, while the fourth phase concludes in June 2023.

Classic Fashion Apparel Industry, the largest manufacturer and exporter of clothing in Jordan, owns 19 factories across several governorates.
