AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein attended a ceremony marking the launch of a central computerised system at the Chief Islamic Justice Department and Sharia courts in Jordan and in Jerusalem.

The Crown Prince was acquainted with the various advantages of the system, which is designed to streamline procedures and save time and effort. The system links the department electronically with several related public and private institutions.

Chief Islamic Justice Ahmad Hilayel said the system seeks to upgrade the level of services extended to the public. A video on the system and the stages of judicial proceedings was screened at the launch ceremony.

The Crown Prince honoured several Sharia courts, judges and department employees in recognition of their distinguished performance. At the end of the ceremony, he was present with a copy of the Koran and a plaque as a token of appreciation.
