Crown Prince attends military drill

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Tuesday attended a military drill conducted by the 39th Jafar bin Abi Taleb Mechanised Battalion, one of the formations of the 48th Princess Alia Mechanised Brigade.

Upon arrival at the site of the exercise, Crown Prince Al Hussein was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, Commander of the Northern Military Zone Brig. Gen. Ghazi Mqeibel, and the commander of the 48th Princess Alia Mechanised Brigade, Brig. Gen. Dhiab Shawabkeh, as well as a number of senior Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army officers.

At the start of the drill, the 39th Jafar bin Abi Taleb Mechanised Battalion’s leader, Lt. Col. Suheil Zou’bi, briefed His Royal Highness on the battalion’s duties.

The live fire exercise featured the utilisation of different firearms, as well as mock raids in urban zones, hostage rescue, and rappelling, with the participating personnel displaying impeccable skill and accuracy.

At the end of the drill, the Crown Prince praised the advanced skills and high morale of the participating personnel, as well as their high level of coordination.

His Royal Highness also visited Al Sin area, where he was briefed by the commander of the 48th Princess Alia Mechanised Brigade on the geostrategic and historical importance of the site.
